A special day to pay tribute to all the brave souls who had given their lives while serving the country so that you and I can sleep peacefully at night. In fact, we should be thankful to them every single day of our lives. They will never be forgotten as they will always live in the hearts of the people they loved and protected so dearly.
Do not be bothered by any offending remark as long as we know deep in our heart that it does not speak the truth of us … and if it does, know deep in our heart that we, too, have the power in us to change it.
“Good morning,” said a woman as she walked up to the man sitting on the ground. The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new. She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before. “Leave me alone,” he growled.
If we could stand in the person’s shoes, hear what he or she hears, see what he or she sees, and feel what he or she feels, would we have treated the person differently?
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
