I remember a quotation which I have always liked to share with my friends, “If there is only one gift which I can give you, it will be the gift of how others see you…and you will know how special you are to them.”
Indeed, each of us is unique and special in our own ways and no two are exactly the same. Each of us can make a difference and help others even if in a small way. Sometimes, even a simple smile goes a long way and it costs us nothing to smile.
Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other – it doesn’t matter who it is – and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other. – Mother Teresa
The below poem, One and Only You, have been widely misattributed to James T. Moore. I, too, was guilty to misattribute it to James T. Moore. Quite recently, a reader in my page Symphony of Love brought to my attention that this poem was written by Deborah (Deb) Moir, a gifted young writer from Alberta who passed away at age 16 in 1976.
I did a search and found this poem being printed in a column in North County Times, Volume 66, 13 December 1977. Furthermore, I could not find any evidence connecting Moore to this poem. Thus, I would like to attribute this poem to Deborah (Deb) Moir instead.
One and Only You by Deb Moir, 1959-1976
Every single blade of grass,
And every flake of snow,
Is just a wee bit different.
There’s no two alike, you know.
From something small, like grains of sand,
To each gigantic star
All were made with THIS in mind:
To be just what they are!
How foolish then, to imitate;
How useless to pretend!
Since each of us comes from a MIND
Whose ideas never end.
There’ll only be just ONE of ME
To show what I can do.
And you should likewise feel very proud,
There’s only ONE of YOU.

That’s a very nice piece of quote. Only if my boo says that to me 😛
Maybe he has to read it first before he can say that to you 🙂
nice poem
