Get ready to claim Your Blessings!

We do have to know that it is just as important to receive that blessings as it was to give it all we have in everything we do. Most people never hesitate to always give their 100% but when it comes to receiving the fruit of their labour, they sometimes sabotage themselves by subconsciously thinking that they don’t deserve it or they don’t ‘expect’ the blessings at all. The ‘expectation’ which I mentioned here is not to think about the return as we sow; just trust and have the faith that as we sow, so shall we reap. In understanding this, we are not expecting but we are at peace with ourselves that ‘time will come’ naturally for the reaping.
In the meantime, we just sow 100% wholeheartedly. I once had a discussion with a school senior administrator for a talk for their secondary school students and I came up with the title ‘Living an Excellent life’ for the talk. The school, however, felt uncomfortable with the title as they felt that it was too loud and big. They proposed ‘Living a meaningful life’ as an option.
After some deep thought, I told her that I would stick to the title ‘Living an Excellent Life’ and explained my case to her. Upon personal reflection, I thought that ‘Living a meaningful life’ would be too general and it would mean different thing to different people. I certainly do not want to impress upon the students that my way of living is a meaningful life as it is meaningful to me but it may not to another. I do not want to limit their living to my personal standard or to the standard of my time. I want them to explore all possibilities and their own potentials. Just as Rabindranath Tagore said, “Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.”
On the other hand, ‘Living an Excellent Life,’ couldopen up their minds to all possibilities and potentials. I want to plant a seed in their minds to always give their 100% in whatever they do in life; giving their 100% not only in their studies, but also in their extra curriculum, in their health, in their relationships with family and friends, in pursue of their dreams, and in any of their future endeavours.
I may have digressed and yet this concept of ‘Living an excellent life’ is an important step to prepare them to receive their abundant blessings in life. They deserve to reap after sowing 100%.
And you deserve it, get ready to claim your blessings!
