Sarah McLachlan’s Angel in City of Angels

Sarah McLachlan’s Angel in City of Angels

This is another one of my favorite songs which I would like to share with you all. Angel by Sarah McLachlan from the original sound track of City of Angels. Sarah McLachlan has a very unique voice and she brings out the song beautifully. Take a break and listen to this song while you read the lyrics.

“I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it.” – City of Angels

Sarah McLachlan – Angel

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it OK
There’s always some reason to feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction or a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don’t make no difference, escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

You’re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

ME and my brother loved that song. Sarah has such an angelic voice.
I recalled my brother’s joke regarding this song.. It’s not recommended to be played in a car esp for night driving.. one might really turn into an angel… ZZZZ:P

@ Sher, there just may be a chance to really become an angel when listening to this song when driving at night. I agree with you that her voice is simply angelic.

@ Cricket, indeed, it is a beautiful song.

@ Kyle, I love the music too. As for the lyrics, I am still not able to fully understand it. Does it really teach people to go for instant gratification? I look upon it as a form of temporary release when times are tough and nothing seems to work out; a break away and to come back to look at things from another perspective.

    This is a lovely song..
I remember once I got stressed from work, and I tune this song up, felt the calmness, and remembering myself there’s someone watching over me from above.

    Merry Christmas to you!

@ Nancy, it is indeed one very beautiful song; one of my personal favorites.

@ Cricket, pardon me. I has been quite busy helping out a friend on a project. I left home basically about 630am every morning and only reaches home about 9pm for the past 1-2 weeks. Thus I am quite tired. Today is the last day of the project already. I should have more time starting tomorrow. Hope that everything is going on great over your side.

Hey Bk. I guess I will make it a habit to come by and speak to you in here. I have decided to close down “A Day to Share with Tammy.” I put a post up on Cricket today.

@ PJ, it is indeed beautiful.

@ Caity, LOL! That is something new. When I have children of my own, I’ll try what your mom does. πŸ˜€

@ Relimom, I have not watched that movie yet and I don’t like sad ending too. However, life is sometimes like that too; it is not always happy ending. πŸ™‚

@ Cricket, sure! You are welcome to drop me an email too. I would look forward to it. πŸ™‚

Kyle Malcolmy & Symphony of Love,

Tbe song is not about or for instant or self gratification.
The song is about and was written about a Stalker of Sarah’s that committed suicide.

@ SoccerMom, thank you for enlightening us. I did not know that the song was written about a stalker of Sarah that committed suicide. Now that you mentioned it, it certainly does sound like a ‘prayer’ for the person who committed suicide. Thank you for enlightening me.
